Jacques Brenner was a French writer, author of novels and tests, and literature consultant. Born with the Saint-Dié-of-Vosges (the Vosges) the September 16th 1922, he left his step at Rouen (Seine-Maritime) high school as an excellent student and bright individuality. After his school years passed, he became a student of that same place.
The career of journalist and literature critic attracted him, so he started working in this area actively. So he became a critical and literary adviser together in several publishers. He gained it’s highest popularity and success in “Grasset” edition. In that edition he was responsible for ensured mainly the service of reception and first reading of the manuscripts. It was his main job and particularly in “Grasset” he used to take care of the publication of the two volumes of Matthieu Galey “Journal”. This event occured in 1987 and 1989. Also he was known for collaboration in various newspapers and weekly magazines. He was a regular member of the jury of some literary prizes. During his life he managed to receive such prizes in the area of literature as “Prix Renaudot”, “Deux Magots”, “the Prix of the Two Nest eggs” and “the Prix Jacques Chardonne”.
